# Custody and keys

Who can move what, and what stops them.

## Apps and their users

Each app keeps its own custody model for its users' wallets and describes it in its own documentation. The modules do not take control of a user's wallet.

## The Yield Engine's pool

| Key | Where it is | What it can do |
| ----------------------------------------- | ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Master key for the pool's trading account | Off-server | Move funds out of the trading account |
| Trading key | Zirodelta's server | Place, change and cancel orders only. The exchange rejects withdrawals signed with it. |

Payouts from the pool are batched and need a co-signature from the off-server key. If Zirodelta's servers were fully compromised, an attacker could trade the pool badly, but could not withdraw from it.

## Operational keys

Some modules need keys on Zirodelta's servers to do their job, for example to mint and burn wzdUSD as shares are locked and redeemed, or to fill loans from the treasury. These keys hold the system's own roles, not users' wallets. Their activity is on public networks and will be covered by the transparency page as each module goes live.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.zirodelta.com/trust/custody.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
