# Credit Engine

The Credit Engine lets a balance back a loan, so people and businesses can use cash without selling what they hold.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**In development.** The first form is built and switched off.
{% endhint %}

## First form: borrow against wzdUSD

* The borrower locks [wzdUSD](/tokens/wzdusd.md) as collateral and receives USDC.
* Loans run on Jupiter Offerbook, a lending market on Solana, with Zirodelta's treasury as the lender.
* How much can be borrowed depends on the value of the collateral (its share price) and the loan's term. Shorter loans allow a slightly higher loan-to-value.
* The borrower repays before the term ends to unlock the collateral. If a loan is not repaid on time, the collateral can be claimed under the loan's terms.

Rates and limits will be published with the module, not before.

## Next form: advances against upcoming payouts

For apps that pay sellers, drivers, creators or merchants on a schedule, the Credit Engine is designed to advance part of an upcoming payout, repaid automatically from that payout through the [Settlement Engine](/modules/settlement-engine.md). These advances are funded by Zirodelta's own capital, never by the app's users' money, and run through licensed lending partners where the law requires. See [Advances against upcoming payouts](/use-cases/payout-advances.md).

## How Zirodelta earns

From the interest or fees on credit, shared with the app that brings the borrower.

## Status

In development.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.zirodelta.com/modules/credit-engine.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
